The cuisine is not nouvelle cuisine. Hussein prefers to keep faith with the old, classic French cuisine consisting of flambé dishes and dishes cooked with exquisitely flavoured, traditional French sauces. Most of the dishes on the menu have been personally created year by year by Hussein, and now there is an extended menu offering a wide-ranging choice of classic dishes and desserts.

Saint Tropez Restaurant Français is situated in an idyllic position on the north coast of Northern Cyprus from where, sometimes, the mountainous south coast of Turkey . About six kilometres west of Kyrenia, with its own attractively paved car park and easy access from the main Kyrenia-Lapta road, the restaurant and its terraces overlook the clear blue Mediterranean and offer views of the ruggedly beautiful Besparmak mountain range to the south.

Hussain  trained and worked in London until 1991 in several high-class London hotels, his career taking him to renowned establishments like Royal Gardens, the Russell, the Waldorf, the Strand Palace, the Athenaeum, and culminating in the London Park Lane Hilton, where he was M?itre D’ at the Windows on the World Restaurant. Here under Hussein Haci-Mehmet’s meticulous professional care, there  famous people from all walks of life came to dine, Pavarotti, Charlton Heston, Kevin Keegan, Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker, Dennis Thatcher, Jim Brown, “The Incredible Hulk, the stars of Dallas, Arab Sheikhs and a host of other people from the spheres of entertainment and international business and politics.
